Out of responsibility towards people & nature

We want to commit ourselves to sustainable business practices on our own initiative, voluntarily and beyond the legal requirements. Find more information about the projects we support to live up to our responsibility towards people & the environment. To offset our CO2 emissions, we support a recognized climate protection project certified according to international standards.

Our climate protection project

Goal: Marine protection
Project name: Plastic Bank
Location: Worldwide

More than 8 million tonnes of plastic waste end up in the sea every year. By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans. We want to do something about this.

Stopping the plastic flood

Especially in developing countries, the infrastructure for proper disposal is often lacking. Money for plastic – that’s the approach Plastic Bank is taking. People collect plastic waste in Haiti, Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines. At local collection points, they can exchange it for money, food, drinking water, mobile phone credit or even school fees. The project ensures that less plastic enters the sea. Instead, it is recycled.

How does climate protection work with plastic-free oceans?

The ocean stores a quarter of the CO2 from the atmosphere and as much as 93 percent of the heat from the greenhouse effect – making it an important brake on climate change. Warming, overfishing, pollutants and waste jeopardise this balancing function. Various initiatives prevent plastic waste from entering the sea, indirectly protecting the climate. Because no certified emission reductions are created, ClimatePartner supports marine conservation initiatives in combination with internationally recognised climate protection projects. In this way, marine protection and climate neutrality are possible at the same time. For more information: www.climatepartner.com/1087

Clean drinking water project

Water is life. Clean drinking water improves and protects health, gives children the opportunity to go to school permanently, empowers women, strengthens the local economy and enables a better future. Nevertheless, many people around the world do not have secure access to this precious asset.

Viva con Agua advocates for access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. The focus is on positive activism and use the universal languages of music, sport and art at work and projects at home and abroad. With monthly donations, we support the vision “Water for all – all for water”, because water is life.
