Optics & haptics like leather – but vegan
The Nordlicht paper collection is made from a sustainable and vegan kraft paper. The material is manufactured in Germany. The tear-resistant paper is developed from natural plant fibres and guarantees a production process without harmful substances from start to finish.
The kraft paper used is often referred to as paper leather, as it comes very close to the appearance and function of leather. The vegetable natural leather is a kind of vegan leather. Unlike conventional synthetic leather, paper leather is natural, environmentally friendly and sustainable. We deliberately refrain from using synthetic leather, among other things, as all plastics are petroleum-based and require a lot of energy to produce. The disposal of the products is also problematic, since synthetic leather is not biodegradable and therefore counts as plastic waste.
The material is robust and easy to clean.
Since the base of the kraft paper is made of natural materials, there is hardly any wear and tear of the material compared to synthetic leather even after a long time. Thanks to a wax layer on the surface, the material can withstand even difficult weather conditions. At the same time, dirt can be easily washed off the surface.
Our paper collection is therefore durable, tear-resistant and water-repellent.
Natural Material & Durable Design
Why is our paper a sustainable, vegan and environmentally friendly material?
Our kraft paper consists mostly of natural fibres and is solidified with latex. It is free of pentachlorophenol, PVC or BPA and is therefore neither harmful to the environment nor health.
Nordlicht Bags and backpacks made of kraft paper are designed in such a way that they are still portable even after many years. The material is not only robust but also resistant to all dirt particles. That’s why our kraft paper is the perfect leather alternative.
